On Sunday 8 September Lowestoft is set to host the thrilling start to the final stage of the prestigious Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain. Organised nationally by British Cycling and locally by East Suffolk Council, the Tour of Britain is an international cycle race comprising the best male cyclists in the world, including Olympic and World Champions.
East Suffolk Council is excited to be working with British Cycling to provide the local organisation for the stage and the support activities in the build up to the event. We want to work closely with local communities and businesses to build a fantastic atmosphere building real interest and boosting visitor numbers to Lowestoft.
Working in partnership with East Suffolk Council, First Light Festival. are thrilled to be hosting the celebrations and have an exciting programme of events and activities planned, taking place from 09:00 – 15:00 in the Tour Village on Royal Green next to East Point Pavilion.
The free activities will include a BMX pump track and a series of creative and educational workshops hosted by First Light Festival, National Literacy Trust, and Books and Prints.
