Kirkley Pocket Parks –
a community project
Kirkley Pocket Parks (KPP) was established in Spring 2022 by Kirkley residents dedicated to improving their local surroundings. The group identifies green spaces, planting areas, or neglected public places that need attention. After securing permission from landowners (typically Highways, East Suffolk Council, or Town Council) and obtaining funding for plants and materials, KPP informs nearby residents through letters and social media, encouraging their involvement and input. Once the project is completed, the community takes over maintenance with the KPPG always in the background, ensuring sustainability and fostering local pride.
